When did you join HB Health Hub?

First session was 3rd September 2020

What were your expectations?

 

Continue fat loss process under the instruction of Helder especially as I was struggling to lose the belly fat even though I had previously started my fitness journey a year before. Once fat loss achieved, look to build muscle mass with minimal fat gain.

Have we met your expectations?

Yes, although its been a long and challenging journey, I felt supported throughout. Due to the pandemic, there was a period where I continued to train alone at home but support from Helder was always there. In the early part of covid, he offered support and guidance without any fees which must have been a difficult time for his business. This was above and beyond what I would have expected.

What did you mostly takeaway from this experience?

 

The importance of everything other than lifting weights in helping to maintain a healthier lifestyle. The importance of sleep, hydration, protein and fibre. How to reduce calories in stages in order to lose fat in stages and also reverse dieting by slowly increasing calories in the process. I have also learned the importance of self care and recovery in order to help make the new me sustainable. I now have a keen interest in Health and Fitness and am looking to certify as a PT myself in the very near future.

When you speak to others about your journey, what are you most excited about telling them?

 

How I went from 72 kg to around 58 kg. A father of two who is leaner, stronger, energised and able to manage a healthier lifestyle despite working full time. Show some of my friends and family the pictures taken for my 40th birthday in comparison to where I started. How some of the lifestyle changes I have made mean that my children are healthier too as they like to eat more fruit/vegetables as well as go for walks and live an active life.

Do you feel you have come away from this experience with knowledge you can take away with you for the rest of your life?

 

I will take a lot away from this experience as this is a lifestyle choice which I look to maintain for the rest of my life. The knowledge I have gained will definitely be useful in advising friends and family who want to learn more about how I am looking so good at 40! Also, as I am looking to certify as a Personal Trainer, this knowledge is a great foundation to build from.

How would you rate your overall experience?

 

Excellent, Helder is determined in helping achieve our goals. His interest in the industry has meant that as he continually learns, he is happy to share this information as he continues to educate us. Having a coach and mentor who believes in you and provides support/accountability this is invaluable.
